About Us

Sergeant Stories is a veteran-owned comic book shop that really started years ago. Owner Joshua Strausbaugh was first a childhood reader, and then a collector--like some of you! Over his career with the U.S. Army, the comic book collection moved with him, and he bonded with family and friends over comics-inspired movies and shows. After he retired, opening the store was a natural next step.

Strausbaugh thrives on hearing that a certain vintage book means a lot to a customer, or that he's enhanced their experience at a comic con near them, or that he's connected them with the next new book in a series that they've been waiting for. He appreciates that we can see ourselves in comic book stories, or broaden our perspectives through them. While it would be hard to pick a favorite, he enjoys Wolverine, horror comics, and of course, rare, hard-to-find key issues.
